It is time to recognise New Zealands best property professionals

Are you, or one of your colleagues, among the best property professionals in New Zealand? The Property Institute of New Zealand is calling for nominations for five award categories at the 2017 Property Institute Annual Conference. Now is the time to put forward the name of a colleague, business, or yourself to be recognised for outstanding work.

Nominations close at 5pm on 21 April 2017, and nominees will be advised of their selection by 1 May 2017.

 

Supreme Award: The Property Industry Award

The Supreme Award is presented to an individual in a public or private capacity who has demonstrated the qualities of leadership and vision, and who has positively impacted on the property sector, economy and community. The recipient is chosen at the discretion of the Property Institute Board, however the Board welcomes nominations from Members.

Nominations must include:

 

  • A description and commendation of the nominee's role in the property profession;
  • At least five personal recommendations from colleagues, clients, or Property Institute Members.
  • Evidence of engagement with their professional community;
  • Details of involvement in any significant projects during the past 12 months, highlighting the nominees personal involvement;
  • Completion of entry form
 

Property Professional of the year

Inspiring, motivating, and challenging the industry to advance

We have all met someone throughout our career whose leadership and vision has a significant positive impact on our profession. The Property Professional of the Year award recognises those people who not only demonstrate outstanding performance, but who have a long term positive impact on the people around them and the advancement of the industry as a whole.

Key judging criteria include:

  • Active engagement with the professional community, including their local branch;
  • The authoring or co-authored a publication on a property related matter;
  • Presentation of a property related matter at a national or regional conference;
  • Supporting the professional development of colleagues and young professionals.

Any Member can submit a nomination for this award. Entry requirements include:

  • A description of the nominees role in the property profession;
  • Up to five written commendations from either employers, colleagues, mentees, and members of the Institute;
  • Up to three written commendations from clients recommending the nominee for their outstanding ability to service client requirements and meet business needs;
  • Evidence of engagement with their professional community and local branch;
  • Details of involvement in any significant projects during the past 12 months, highlighting the nominees personal involvement;
  • Completion of entry form, available on PINZ website.
 

Property Business of the Year

Fostering innovation to achieve success

The Property Business of the Year award recognises success and innovation in the workplace.

We are looking for nominees who can demonstrate how their business has delivered successful and sustainable positive change. This may be through cultural change, an innovative working environment, or a drive to build client trust and confidence.

This award is open to any property business that provides business services in at least one of the Institutes four professional communities, and who has at least two staff that are members of the Property Institute.

Entry requirements include:

  • A submission of up to 1000 words outlining how your workplace delivers successful and sustainable positive change for both staff and clients;
  • A selection of photos or videos representing the working environment and positive attitude of your team;
  • At least two written references from clients, and three written commendations from staff about the work environment;
  • Completion of entry form, available on PINZ website.
 

Young Property Professional of the Year

Encouraging passionate future leaders
 

Calling all Young Guns around the country! 

The Young Professional of the Year award recognises an outstanding and emerging young professional within the New Zealand property industry. This award is open to any person under the age of 35 on June 30, 2016. We are looking for people who demonstrate initiative, innovation, leadership, and who contribute to their professional community. Any Member can submit a nomination for this award.

Entry requirements include:

  • A twitter pitch of 140 characters about why the nominee is an outstanding young property professional;
  • A supporting statement from the nominee of up to 500 words, including details of how they are positioning themselves for a future in the property sector; 
  • A CV from the nominee;
  • Up to five written commendations from any of the following; colleagues, clients, mentees, a University organisation, or any other sector group;
  • Completion of entry form, available on PINZ website.
 

Property Innovation Award

Encouraging new ideas and initiatives

The Innovation Award recognises a person or team who has developed a truly innovative project or initiative that stands out from the crowd. The broad scope of this award serves to encourage nominations for work that has significantly improved the service provided to industry and/or clients.

This award is open to any person or property business that provides business services in at least one of the Institutes four professional communities, and who has at least two staff who hold membership of the Property Institute.

Entry requirements include:

 

  • A submission of up to 1000 words outlining how you have delivered an innovative project, scheme, or service;
  • Up to five written testimonials from people or businesses that have benefited from your work;
  • Completion of entry form, available on PINZ website.
 

Conditions of entry

  1. Applications and supporting documentations will be acknowledged but not returned
  2. The individual nominated needs to have been a current member of the New Zealand Property Institute (either a paying or nonpaying member) for a for a minimum of one year at the time of the nomination.
  3. Nominations must be received by 5pm on 21 April 2017. Nominees will be advised of their selection by 1 May 2017.
  4. Two copies of the application must be submitted.
  5. Written attestations must include contact details for authentication purposes if the nomination is successful
  6. Finalists will be published on the Institute website and in any other collateral the Institute considers appropriate.
  7. Finalists agree to attend the Institute Awards dinner in Auckland at their own expense.
  8. The winner will permit the Institute to use photographs of their acceptance for promotional purposes.
  9. The decision of the judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
